Sustainable Inspiration: Insights from the Stockholm Furniture Fair
BOXNINE7 BLOG
Our designer, Sophie Wilson, recently visited the Stockholm Furniture Fair to grab some inspiration and came back bursting with creativity to put toward our future projects!
From sleek Scandinavian style to funky modern art, this place has it all. We were particularly impressed by the innovative use of materials, such as recycled plastics and sustainable wood, in many of the designs.
Read on to see how this exhibition has made a lasting impact on our future design thinking….
Now or Never – 1 kg CO2e
The Now or Never - 1kg COE exhibition at Stockholm furniture fair was very thought provoking. By physically displaying how much of a certain material needs to be produced to create one kilogram of carbon emissions, it allowed us to better visualise the benefits of choosing sustainable materials.
The exhibition was a game-changer for us as interior designers, and it will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on our future thinking when designing. The exhibition challenged us to think beyond conventional design practices and to prioritise sustainability in our projects. We were also impressed by the aesthetic beauty of the pieces on display, which showed that sustainability and style can go hand in hand.
Overall, the Now or Never - 1kg COE exhibition has changed our future thinking when designing by encouraging us to prioritise sustainability and to think more creatively and collaboratively about materials and design choices. We believe that this shift in thinking will not only benefit the environment but will also result in more beautiful and functional spaces for our clients.
We have a very exciting sustainable project coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled for this! We have also begun our carbon neutral mission…more to be revealed soon!
Atelier100 Ideas Factory
The Atelier100 Ideas Factory was one of the most fascinating talks at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. The Ideas Factory served as a platform for designers and creatives to showcase their ideas, designs, and prototypes to an audience of industry professionals and enthusiasts.
As a result of our experience at the Atelier100 Ideas Factory, we have become more focused on creating designs that are both practical and impactful. We are now more committed to using technology, like virtual tours, and collaboration to create interactive spaces that engage the senses and evoke emotion.
Outdoor Office by Lovisa of Sweden
Lovisa of Sweden showcased an innovative outdoor office concept at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, which garnered significant attention from attendees. The outdoor office is designed to provide a comfortable and functional workspace that allows people to work outdoors in a natural and relaxing environment. It is an excellent example of how furniture design can merge functionality and aesthetics to create unique and useful solutions for modern living.
As an interior design company, we were particularly impressed by the versatility and functionality of the Outdoor Office. This exhibit inspired us to explore new ways of using space and to think more inventively about designing workspaces. It has challenged our traditional notion of workspaces in the home and encouraged us to consider the productivity of people, not just how it looks.
