With British Summer Time in full swing and lockdown coming to an end, for many of us, it has given us a chance to reflect on new importance’s and priorities in life especially the properties we live in.

It comes as no surprise that outdoor space has become a new top priority for tenants and home buyers. Although it has been recorded that many living in Central London are now venturing further afield past zone 3, our Curated Furniture Packages for new developments in and around the city are still very much in high demand.

With outdoor space being such a talking point and with many people wanting more greenery in their lives, we share our tips on how to bring the outside in, the importance of outdoor space when looking at a property and how we collaborated with Savills Interiors to contribute to the new Nightingale Hospital during COVID-19.

Bringing The Outdoors In.

Although London offers plenty of greenery, we can also turn our homes into an outdoor oasis. Plants are the perfect addition, often acting as statement focal points within the room whilst bringing a fresh ambience to the space.

As often mentioned on our Instagram - our exclusive Interior Design and Home Staging services are never complete without beautiful plants and flowers. Not only do they look picturesque, but they are also proven to be good for your health by reducing carbon dioxide levels.

Stuck for inspiration? Take a look through our portfolios to see how we accessorise a room with a variety of plants.

Donating Our Services.

Earlier in the year with the cases of COVID-19 so high, Nightingale Hospital at the Excel Centre in London opened its doors to help with the outbreak. We were approached by Savills Interiors to help provide outdoor furniture for the patient’s and key workers to have a place to take a break outside in the fresh air. Acting as a key contact, we donated several chairs, stools and tables to create welcoming space.

The Importance of Outdoor Space.

When looking for a new place to live within London it is important to check the location is close to outdoor amenities such as a park or courtyard, better yet a private garden or balcony. With many working from home for the foreseeable future and offices even closing down in favour of remote working - fresh air and outdoor space are imperative for your mental wellbeing.

Luckily, many new developments have already considered this and offer spacious balconies and terraces. As featured in our Landmark Place interior design portfolio, the balcony is the perfect place to entertain guests with the space acting as an extra room in the apartment. Looking for somewhere to relax, read a book and take a break? Our Gasholders balcony is the perfect mix with enough space to build an outdoor plant haven.
