Home Staging: Before and After Transformation
The craft of home staging focuses on dressing up a property to highlight its architecture and physical features, making a significant difference in attracting potential buyers. The aim of the process is to sell or rent it out faster and at the desired price. Unlike interior design, which reflects the homeowner's personal style, staging typically uses a neutral theme to appeal to a larger audience. At BoxNine7, we have staged multiple properties with great success. Here are some of our ‘home staging: before and after’ stories. Take a tour of our design process with us.
Clapham Common North Side
This was a beautiful 8,400 sq. ft, 6-bedroom property that had some magnificent baroque architectural features. We felt it was important to display its historical essence without making the house feel dated.
The house featured striking Corinthian-style polished marble pillars in the living room, adorned with intricately carved capitals. Throughout the interior, ornate fireplaces showcased exquisite detailing, including sculpted corbels, decorative spandrels, and elegant friezes.
The architectural elements were richly textured, with elaborate carvings and layered ornamentation. To showcase these details, our interior designers chose furniture with minimal texture and clean lines, ensuring that the eye was naturally drawn to the home’s stunning period features.
To keep the look subdued yet striking, the colour scheme was kept neutral, with bright highlights to draw the viewer’s attention.
Riverside One
When designing the interiors of a home, it helps to have a theme running through to tie it all together. That’s what we did with Riverside One, a beautiful waterside apartment in Battersea.
For this waterside home, we settled on a neutral palette with splashes of blue. Using subtle luxury elements, we created a space that looked inviting and comfortable whilst drawing the viewer’s eye towards the view.
Little Chester Street
This was a 2,600-sq-ft home situated in Belgravia. As a newly refurbished property in such a prime location, it called for a modern interior. We also wanted to highlight its large, open spaces and naturally lit interiors. That’s why we went with a look that blends contemporary warmth with mid-century influences.
The colour palette we chose was earthy ochres, soft neutrals, and rich rust tones to evoke the warmth of sunlight filtering through. Every element, from the geometric lighting fixtures to the abstract artwork, was selected to echo the movement of natural light.
This theme was continued with reflective surfaces, including a glass coffee table and metallic accents. Finally, we limited the use of furniture to create a comfortable space that had plenty of room.
Perrymead Street
Our brief for this 7-bedroom West London property was to create a ‘Soho House’-style family home. This eclectic style, with its elements of understated luxury and lived-in modernity, seemed perfect for this large property.
The important word here was ‘family,’ we wanted to create a space where you could see children playing and friends and loved ones spend their time.
When choosing furniture, we opted for comfort and plush elegance. Each piece was handpicked for durability, even with hard use. The arrangement was used to create a welcoming environment where you could imagine yourself spending time with your family.
Hambledon House
Located in the eponymous village in Surrey, Hambledon House is a stunning 8,000-sq-ft country home. So, of course, we had to stage it to highlight its countryside charm but wrapped in a modern, sophisticated feel.
We implemented a neutral, earthy palette, with accents of muted greens, deep blues, and warm rusts. Against this backdrop, we introduced motifs from nature—a painting made from leaf prints, a lamp in a dandelion shape, a wooden sideboard with a bark texture.
Every element we selected for this house helped create a deeply earthy and organic mood but in a classy, contemporary way.
